Summary
Responsible for a full range of concrete formwork and rough and finish carpentry work in commercial construction.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

- Builds andsets forms for footings, walls and slabs
- Frames andfinishes exterior walls, roofs and decks
- Works withconcrete forming systems
- Followsblueprints and building plans
- Measures, cutsand shapes wood, plastic and other materials
- Constructsbuilding frameworks, including walls, floors and doorframes
- Uses powertools such as drills, saws, and nail guns plus hand tools such as hammers andshovels
- Uses a varietyof tools to measure, cut and join wood, drywall, fiberglass, plastic and otherbuilding materials.
- Constructsunderground partitions, braces and specialty concrete forms. Assists with shoring installation.
- Establishesconstruction benchmarks and elevations through use of survey equipment.
- Reports to different work sites to complete required tasks/projects
- Follows established safety rules and regulations
Supervisory Responsibility
Responsible for a full range of concrete formwork and rough and finish carpentry work in commercial construction.
Position Type
This is a full-time position. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Work Environment
The work environment characteristics here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. While performing the duties of this job, the Carpenter works mostly outdoors. Work occurs primarily in an on-site environment. May involve heights, exposure to hot or cold weather, loud noises, dust and fumes.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Employee will be required to be on their feet for the majority of their work shift. Requires lifting and/or moving of construction materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate equipment and carpentry tools.
Education/Experience
- Must be a member of the Southwest Regional Council of Carpenters.
- Must havecompleted, or be enrolled in, the Carpenter’s Apprenticeship program.
- Must have avalid driver’s license
- Must havereliable transportation to job site
- Must havebasic hand tools and basic PPE (steel toed boots, work pants/jeans)
- Ability totake measurements and make calculations
- Willingness totravel to assigned job sites
