Whittier, CA – December 20, 2019 – Mark Bargman, superintendent, who was recently recognized as employee of the month in August of 2019, has retired after 43 years of building excellence at Oltmans Construction Co. Mark began as a first-period apprentice with Oltmans in December of 1977, right out of high school.

WHITTIER, CA – January 5, 2017 – Jose Gonzales – TI Superintendent – Recently retired on December 28, 2016 after nearly twenty years with Oltmans Construction Co. He started in 1997 as Carpenter Apprentice on his first project, the Ashland Chemical Facility, and was quickly recognized as a strong leader and hard worker.

WHITTIER, CA – May 11, 2016 – Juan Felix, Labor Foreman, recently retired on March 31, 2016 after dedicating 37 years to working at Oltmans Construction Co. He joined Oltmans in 1979 as a Laborer and was known to be a hard worker and a great leader in the field. When we called Juan to see how he was doing, he chuckled and said, “I’m fishing.” He said it’s something he enjoys doing on a regular basis.

On Thursday, May 12, 2016, Ganahl Lumber Co. broke ground on their new 86,000 s.f. retail store and lumber yard with a rooftop parking lot in the city of Torrance, California. Oltmans Construction was honored to be a part of the team on this new and exciting project.

WHITTIER, CA – April 22, 2016 – Oliver Hunt, also known as “Windy”, has dedicated 30 years to working at Oltmans Construction Co. He started his career in 1978 as a Laborer at the age of 27. Due to his talents and hard work, Oliver made Labor Foreman in only six (6) months. As things began to slow down in 1990, he left Oltmans for eight years to pursue other work. He returned in 1998 and has been a fixture in the Oltmans Field Operations ever since.

April 1, 2014 – John Gormly, President of Oltmans Construction Co., proudly announces the promotion of James R. Bogle to Chief Estimator.

The new, single story, 50,000 s.f. concrete tilt-up facility for the County of Riverside’s Department of Public Social Services was completed under an Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) approach which focused on a collaborative team effort to minimize cost and schedule risk.

Oltmans Construction Co. started construction on the Ajax La Palma Business Center on September 2013 and is scheduled for completion June 2014. According to the Orange County Business Journal, at 93,447 s.f., it is currently among the biggest industrial projects in Anaheim, California in years.

Oltmans Construction Co. continues to lead the construction industry by making their way to the 100 Fastest Growing Private Businesses in L.A. County. This was awarded by Los Angeles Business Journal in the November 18th issue. Oltmans ranks at #25 with 179.9% growth in revenue from 2010-12. Construction has begun on a $25-million laboratory in Oxnard that its owners hope will be one of the most advanced auto emissions testing and powertrain development facilities in the country.

VERNON, CA – Oltmans Construction Co. recently broke ground for a new 310,000 square foot manufacturing build-to-suit being constructed for the C.R. Laurence Co. in Vernon, California. The project, located on 55th Street, is situated on an over eleven-acre site, and is due for completion in February of 2011.

When developer Urban Offerings, Inc. of El Segundo, CA acquired a 1956 vintage bow truss industrial building in the Culver City area of Los Angeles in 2007 to renovate it for adaptive creative office space, the company envisioned an even greater concurrent challenge to make an existing building energy sustainable. Both goals were achieved, the company reports.
