Whittier-based Oltmans Construction Gains National Ranking For General Contractors

WHITTIER, CA – On the heels of being listed within the elite tier of California general contractors, Oltmans Construction Co. of Whittier, CA has been ranked at the upper half of the “Top 400 Contractors” nationwide for 2008 by leading industry publication ENGINEERING NEWS-RECORD (ENR).

ENR listed Oltmans Construction Co. number 203 on its list based on the company’s total revenue for 2007 of $338.3 million. Among California-based contractors on the national list, Oltmans checked in at number 23.

On the 50th anniversary of ENR’s first list that ranked contractors, the publication reported that the top 400 contractors for 2008 generated $304.36 billion in revenue in 2007, up 15.8 percent from 2006. This contrasts with 1958, when only eight firms had domestic new contract awards above $100 million.

Among outstanding recent projects by Oltmans Construction are the completion of the Living Spaces showroom and warehouse in Panorama City, the Mechanix Wear headquarters in Valencia, and the Alabama Street Logistics Center, now underway in Redlands.
