Oltmans Self-Perform Concrete Operations

Whittier, CA – Oltmans structural concrete division, dubbed ‘OCCO Concrete,’ was established in the 1940s when the company became a signatory to the Carpenters Southwest (aka Southwest Carpenters Union). Today, the firm remains affiliated with the carpenters and is also affiliated with the Laborers’ International Union of North America (LiUNA) and continues to push the boundaries of concrete excellence. These affiliations allow the company to maintain a high level of craftsmanship and staffing ability that is unique in a volatile industry.

Carbon Reduction Ready Mix Research & Development

Oltmans Construction Co. is proud to leverage its 40 years of self-performance expertise to meet the growing need for sustainable construction methodologies. In collaboration with some of the largest ready-mix suppliers in the country, the company is beginning to implement alternative variations of concrete ready-mix to reduce the embodied carbon in traditional concrete tilt-up buildings. Successfully implemented on the Be Well Behavioral Health project, the concrete slabs poured on the three buildings are rated 131-481 Global Warming Potential (GWP), representing the lowest GWP-rated, self-performed product that Oltmans has poured to date.
