High Visibility Headquarters Overlooks Highway 23

New Warehouse Discount Center retail/distribution facility opens in Moorpark, CA with the area’s Mission motif

Moorpark, CA – A striking retail, distribution center and corporate headquarters for Warehouse Discount Center (WDC), perched on an elevated high visibility site overlooking Highway 23 and designed to complement Moorpark, CA’s Mission architecture, has been completed, announces the Thousand Oaks, CA office of Oltmans Construction Co., the project’s general contractor.

WDC is one of Southern California’s largest independently owned home appliance and plumbing fixture retailers. The Agoura store remains open as a retail operation. The new WDC headquarters is strategically located on a 8.2-acre site at 14349 White Sage Rd. south of Highway 118.

“Our new Moorpark headquarters provides us with an opportunity to provide even greater service to our customers throughout Southern California. Oltmans Construction Co. provided us with exceptional service, paid attention to detail, and completed the project on time and on budget,” said Tom Schlender, president and CEO of WDC.

Phil Saide, project manager in the Thousand Oaks, CA office of Oltmans Construction Co., said the new WDC headquarters totals 132,500 sq. ft. of space. A second 17,500 sq. ft. retail building is earmarked for lease, with Ortho Mattress having already leased half of the facility.

Designed by Poliquin Kellogg Design Group of Woodland Hills, the WDC headquarters features tilt-up construction, high performance glazing, with architectural detailing provided through the use of terra cotta roof elements, warm mission style colors and wood trellis elements, according to architect Brian Poliquin.

WDC, with over 150 employees, has stores in Agoura Hills, Chatsworth, Canyon Country, Northridge, Oxnard, Santa Barbara and Moorpark.
