Women’s Health Clinic, Department of Veterans Affairs
The Women's Health Clinic is an expansion of the Loma Linda Veterans Affairs Clinic, specifically designed to provide comprehensive care for women veterans. The project encompassed a seismic upgrade and renovation, including repositioning an existing 12,000 s.f. office space on a 37,399 s.f. site, resulting in a facility that nearly doubles the previous space.
The Women’s Health Center provides comprehensive primary care, gynecology surgery service, and services to female veterans in extension to the services provided at the Loma Linda VA clinic located less than 0.5 miles away from the new outpatient facility. The project was the repositioning of an office space into a 37,399 s.f women’s health clinic with seismic upgrades. The outpatient clinic is one-story with structurally upgraded roof framing including the installation of perimeter holdown (HDU2) hardware, roof diaphragm nailing, and wood blocking for seismic reinforcement. The clinic houses 14 exam rooms, 2 procedure rooms, several multi-use rooms, and administrative spaces.
The procedure rooms feature specialty overhead patient hoist systems that required special structural upgrades and the addition of restrooms in every procedure and exam room for private patient use. Additionally, Oltmans completed ADA striping in the parking lot.
